HPE Aruba Networking’s new agentic AI approach to networking (and security)

Larry Lunetta, HPE Aruba’s VP of AI, Security and Networking Product Marketing sits down with us during HPE Discover 2025 to discuss HPE’s new agentic AI approach to networking.

HPE Aruba’s Agentic AI Vision

The vision of HPE Aruba Networking goes beyond generative AI, using autonomous agents to proactively identify and resolve network issues. These cloud-based agents analyze real-time telemetry, offering automated and human-initiated problem-solving. The system provides recommendations with supporting evidence, allowing administrators to approve or reject fixes.

Massive Data Lake Powers AI Capabilities

HPE Aruba Networking’s Agentic AI offerings use data from its own massive data lake for training and inference:

  • 6 million network devices
  • 3 billion client devices
  • A trillion data points daily

This should enable predictive and reactive capabilities and performance improvements up to 25%, Lunetta says.

GreenLake Intelligence Integration

HPE’s GreenLake Intelligence integrates Agentic AI across networking, storage, and compute for holistic IT management. This should result in a consolidated view and avoid the siloed approach that competitors have, according to Lunetta. The system is accessible via a copilot interface for natural language queries.
